Interview Questions
1. How many dogs a month does your organization typically rescue?
A: We average around 30 adoptions per month. Several times a year we participate in large adoption fairs like the East Bay Adopt-a-thon at Jack London Square, or the Bay Area Pet Fair in San Rafael. We've adopted up to 50 dogs a day at events like that.
2. What are their age ranges?
A:We take in all ages of dogs including pregnant momma dogs to senior dogs looking for hospice homes.
3. How many pets do you currently have at the rescue?
A: Our numbers are constantly changing but we have around 120 dogs in our foster home network and Sanctuary.
4. Do you believe all pets should be neutered or spay?
A: Yes, overpopulation is the primary reason for there being so many homeless animals. The Humane Society of the United States estimates 6-8 million pets enter shelters every year, and only half are adopted out.
5.What is the timeline for adoption?
A: Every animal is different. Puppies are adopted much quicker than adults, and some breeds go faster than others. Also, if a dog has behavioral or medical issues it takes longer to find them the right home because they need a specific type of living situation.
6.What is the hardest part of your job?
A:The hardest part of my job as a Rocket Dog Volunteer is deciding which dogs NOT to take from shelters, owners, or off the street.
7.Why did you decide to work in animal rescue?
A: I have always been a huge animal lover and as soon as I started with Rocket Dog I was hooked. There is an endless supply of dogs in need, and I love being part of the whole process.
8.How long have you worked for Rocket Dog Rescue?
A: I have been volunteering with Rocket Dog for almost 2 years.
9.How many years have you been involved with animal rescue?
A: This is my first long term rescue commitment, but I have volunteered with animal shelters all over the country since I was a teenager.
10.How did you get involved with animal rescue?
A: I wanted to have a dog, and started checking out different rescues that I could foster with. I have now fostered 11 dogs, 3 of which I adopted myself.
11.What is the biggest challenge on your job?
A:The hardest part of my job is to decide which dogs take to the shelter, which do not take, owners, or off the street.

Reflection
What problems did you encounter before or during the interview?
It was a bit difficult because the interview was at an event Nangle Moriah had and she was busy and needed to take care of the dogs, and meet the people who came. So we were on the street was noisy and not much is heard, the interview was quite fast.
What are two significant things you learned from this interview? Explain why they are significant.
Everything is not the same as you think, I thought that it was easy to care for several dogs, but really need experience to know how to have everything in control. The work of volunteers is not easy as everyone might think. Find home for puppies is quite difficult and you need many things to find a family to a puppy. In this job you really need to have patience, that most of the people do not have.
Are there any additional questions you would ask if given another opportunity to interview them? Why would you ask those questions?
Yes,because I can learn more about how the differents feeling in the work, and can be significant for my future.
Why did she chose that type of work?
How she feel she watch a pet When dying?
how it feels to see a dog that saved but was about to die?
